Matt consults on taxes at his day job, helping clients with tax research, preparation, & collection/audit relief. Saved money on music lessons by teaching himself guitar, gaining enough knowledge to jam with pro musicians and perform for audiences. He learned early about the value of competition and collaboration through baseball, which helped him gain the interest of MLB scouts by high school junior year. In Matt's libertarian vision, tax work has less value, so he is protecting himself by transitioning into a more appropriate career involving statistics and/or sustainable farming (based on expert advice from Hal Varian, Joel Salatin, Jim Rogers, etc.) When not taking evening Calculus & Spanish classes and seeking out apprenticeships in libertarian fields, he's leading the San Jose SoLE chapter and working on entrepreneurial ideas, one of which is the development of libertarian education apps & solutions.
